Hang Around Kids

To stay positive hang around kids. Try to look past the attitudes they can have and really look at them as individuals. They have an inane ability to find humor. I work at an elementary school and believe me when I say it's impossible to stay in a bad humor with all the shenanigans that kids can come up with. They're great people! emoticon

I'm retired from public education but I keep my name on the Teacher On Call list so I can work a few days per month, mostly so I can still have time with kids without all the hassle of fulltime teaching. It's great. I'm available K through 12 in 3 different schools and there are very few classrooms where I won't accept a call-out. There's something delightful about kids at every level!

I have been substitute teaching for 9 years. Last night, after water exercise, I saw a former student of mine from a school I subbed at 9 years ago and she remembered my name even with a hoodie on! She was always such a joy, and to have seen her as an adult was such an wonderful feeling! Even though subbing can be difficult at times, the rewards far outweigh the negatives! emoticon
