We are doing a 9-week long Biggest Loser Challenge at my office. Whomever loses the most percentage of body weight will receive $455 and the runner up will receive $195. Any time I feel a craving for an unhealthy food, or come up with excuses not to to exercise, I remind myself I only have one excuse to indulge (instant gratification for the food, laziness for not exercising), and 455 reasons to make the healthy choice.

I wrote a list of all the reasons I want to lose this weight. It contains "big" reasons - like my upcoming wedding, getting off medication, etc. and "small" reasons - like being able to easily pick something up off the floor.
Whenever I feel my motivation waning, or the urge to eat a cookie, I read over this list several times. It reminds me of why I'm doing this, and that my reasons are so much more important and meaningful than eating a cookie or skipping a workout.
