On Sundays, I devote that day to prepping all of my meals for the week, such as, chopping fresh veggies and putting them in containers; seasoning meat/fish for the week and also ironing all my outfits that I plan to wear to work. I set up my daily gym routines on a weekly calendar. This way, during my hectic work week, I make NO EXCUSES to not follow through with my workout commitment.

  • I prep most of my veggies that I will be using for the week. It's easy to have them all cut and in baggies or containers.
To have your onions, peppers, ready to go makes it easier if you decide to add to a dish .
I have a rack in my bedroom, I hang my clothes I plan on waring for the next day. I know exactly how everything will look and if it's in the condition it should be. That way I have time to make changes and am not frazzled in the morning.
When I come back from the gym, I take out the dirty clothes and put fresh ones in.
I do keep a locker at the gym with extra undies , swim suit, and gym clothes, just in case I have forgot anything.
Just a little planning can make your life less hectic.
If I don't plan as I do my day seems out of sync.
After all I worked as an efficiency expert for major corporation for years.. Guess it just comes naturally. - by TUBLADY
  • we've been doing the same thing except on Saturday's. Sunday is family day. We force the kids to play with us. - by FMNEWTON_COX
  • I do this exact same thing. Some people that I work with think that I am crazy. But life is hectic enough and being well prepared helps me face my work week with a better outllook! It has helped me keep on track! At first it seems really time consuming but the more you do it, the better you get at it! - by SHAWNY2

  • I need to be better about planning ahead. I'm not very good at planning period! Lol I know it would help me a bunch to have meals and snacks planned and have some of the prep work done ahead of time though. I am going to try this for this week! Thanks! emoticon - by 330KKD
  • I did this for years, when my kids were younger, and when I worked.
But it really is a great idea.

Now Sunday is just my weekly PLAN Day...I check grocery ads, coupons, make a weeks meals menu, and then a shopping list.
It really helps to keep me accountable. I need a plan!

Thanks for the reminder! emoticon - by PYNETREE
  • I LOVE this idea!!! I'm always so tired by the time I get home from work that it's easier to stop for take-out or fast food which totally throws off my diet. Going to start this weekend!!!! emoticon - by TINKSTREASURES

I organize my food for the week on Sunday evening, make soup for my lunch for the week ahead, sauces for my dinners and prep the fruit for my breakfasts. I also chop & pack veg so that i just have to pick from them at dinner time. i find this a much easier way to ensure to include veg in my dinners, chopping and cooking takes much too long emoticon - by MRSBRADY20
  • Great idea. Sounds like you got it all together. emoticon - by MSBATMAN
  • MARGORIEHELIE
Great to hear that other people use the strategy of planning ahead. It does make a difference. I make up a huge salad and separate it into 4 or 5 air tight storage containers for quick lunches. As long as I use fresh ingredients they never go bad on me. It is great when I am hungry and can just grab an amazing salad out of the fridge. Plus if you must dirty your cutting board, knives, dishes etc. for one salad, why not make 5 salads and wash the dishes only once, right? emoticon - by MARGORIEHELIE

  • I'm off on Mondays so I prepare my fruits for the week, cook two types of meats, and make a big pot of veggies. Every 2-3 weeks I clean a big batch of chicken season it and then freeze it in ziplock bags. I pull out as I need it. - by SUCCESS68
