A Dry Dry Summer

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

I just got a book all about drying your own food at home. This is going to work great b/c we do a garden every year, I cant wait to get my dehydrating on!

Dehydrating works great to keep large quantises of fresh veggies/fruits on hand year-round, its also a great way to know what you are eating and putting into your food since you've handled it start to finish!

We also have quite the garden during the summer. If you don't already can or freeze your bounty, check your library for 'how to' books. There is nothing better in the dead of winter than to make a big pot of vegetable soup using your summer produce (tomatoes, corn, squash, herbs, etc.)! emoticon
