I was battling the speed of my jogging for 2 years. I was stuck on 3.9 - 4.3 MPH. After trying to walk 1 minute then jog 4 - I felt I could up my speed because I got a minute break in between. That upped my regular jogging speed to 4.5 MPH.

Exercise isn't exercise when it's play....so get your friends to come out and play! Enlist your sparkfriends or real life friends or both to do something like the virtual 5K or any other virtual challenge that you can make into a game....it's no longer a chore, it's a party!!
I wanted to run a 5K as part of my goals that I set for myself, but I have not ran in over 5 years :( I found a program to follow called Couch to 5K. It is awesome! You simply follow the suggested workouts 3 days week (they only take about 20-30 min.) and in 9 weeks you should be able to complete a 5k. You can find the program at www.coolrunning.com
Have a friend who lives too far away to meet you for a workout? Set a virtual workout date instead! Text your workout progress to each other, or connect via video chat. It can be just as effective as an in person meet-up to keep you motivated to get in your workout!
