Be Ruthlessly Honest About What It Will Take To Change
Members Were Sparked
Instead of making short term goals only or halfway attempts, to really get back on track I needed to take an honest look at what it would take to achieve permanent change. I had to assess if I was ready to make the commitment. Then I made a promise to log my foods at least 5x/wk. and to walk at least 3-4x/wk. and to begin strength training, and decided that I was not going to try a crash diet or to angst about exact calories, but to move forward boldly and publicly.

I think the key for me is being honest with myself about everything. Not just what I eat or how much water I drink or how much exercise I do, but also how much am I WILLING to do to change my life. In other words, walking my talk. 252
Honesty with self is the strongest ally to healthy lifestyle
Whenever I have felt stuck in my goals as I try to change my life, I have realized that whenever I am strictly honest with myself about all I am doing, THAT is what helps me break out of being stuck. For me, all long-term changes start inside of my mind first before any actions are taken.
Change to change is a tool for recognizing we have to do some and do something different to get a different result. So change to change is a mantra...and stance to look at self from...to ask the deep question: Am I willing to change so I can change?
To change to change I think we need one piece of equiptment: an open mind. To do something different is to do something different and let youself have the "ah ha" experience that goes like this: I liked that or I did not like that. Or that was good for me and I can do that again.
