I told people how much weight I wanted to lose and they all laughed at me. I also told them I wanted to be a strong woman not a wimpy skinny person. They laughed and didn't believe I could do it. Well I'm 1/3 of the way there and going strong. they are all seeing that I'm doing it and... well now, they're a little jealous! Keep it up people, not only for other people, but to also prove to yourself that you can do it!

If you are going to lose weight do it only for yourself. If you want to do it for someone else you're not going to be successful. If someone tells you that you can't or won't take it as a dare & prove them wrong...better yet...prove yourself wrong!
Cut out store ads to ensure you get the right price.
Just because an item is on sale in the ad doesn't mean the store has the correct sale price in their computer system. When checkout clerks are instructed to be as fast as possible it is easy to miss if you've been charged the wrong price. When you are buying a sale item from an ad, cut the ad info out and bring it with to prove to the clerk if it rings up wrong. Even if only 1 item in 100 is wrong, it still might cost you significantly.
Yesterday I was glad I did this when a store didn't give me a $1 coupon off my next purchase I was due. I showed them the ad cutout, showed them what I bought, and they corrected it. It might have been $1 now, but it can add up quickly!
Write a letter to yourself a week from now, anticipating how you might perform (or perceive your performance) during that week. Encourage yourself and call yourself out on your excuses - write whatever you believe is needed for where you are - and read that same letter in seven days. During those days keep that letter in mind. Try to 'earn' the feeling of encouragement you wrote down for yourself, or maybe even prove wrong the doubts you wrote down by doing something opposite everyday! (Repeat!)
