Instead of buying expensive exercise equipment, like treadmills and stationary bikes, buy them from Craig's List or garage sales. Most will be barely used and you will pay pennies on the dollar!

  • Many good ideas here. Thanks to all. - by LEANMEAN2
  • I got burned buying an exercise bike on Craig's List. She said it was hardly used. [Liar] After paying someone to come out and evaluate/fix it, it was pronounced worn out. That was my last Craig's List purchase! - by SUNSHINE65
  • I never fails to amaze me how many people buy expensive exercise equipment just to sell it for practically nothing or throw it out! I got most of mine from yard sales and my treadmill had just been delivered to the dump. My husband replaced the dried out belt and it was as good as new!. - by LSIG14

  • Also don't forget places like freecycle.org. Or even like I have gotten free on the side of the road, I got a gazelle edge and a cardio glide that way and both were in great shape, the people were selling their house and wanted to get rid of it fast so placed it at the side of the road with a big free sign on them. So just because it was placed free at the side of the road doesn't mean that it is junk, check it out before you rule it as such. - by KRYSTALLA
  • And don't forget to check local swap meets....out in San Diego we have several and people sell everything there! emoticon - by AGINGPUNKCHICK
