Eat 5 meals a day instead of 3 meals.. Every time you eat, it increases your metabolism so distributing your diet to smaller sections will help in speeding up metabolism and should get you off a plateau. Drinking water or a diet drinks like Ocean Spray diet cranberry with ice cubes will make your body work harder to heat up which will also increase metabolism.

I tried six months doing 45-60 minutes of high intensity aerobics. After a while, I plateaued and was really discouraged. Since November I've been focusing weight lifting at the limit of my ability and this time the weight went much faster. I was a size 6/8 and now I'm a size 2/4.

I was tracking my calories & nutrients precisely & keeping them exactly at the recommended levels (C50%, F30%, P20%); I plateaued. Upping my exercise didn't get the scale moving, so I increased my protein a bit. While my caloric intake remained the same, the nutrients fell at 43.76%, F 27.37%, P28.87% & so did my weight. The next day I'd lost a full pound, as well as the following day (although I didn't keep my nutrients at the adjusted levels mentioned).
I plan on going back to the recommended levels (C50%, F30%, P20%) today.
