MONITOR YOU'RE BLOOD PRESSURE AND RESTING HEART RATE! It's really amazing how these numbers go down with increased exercise and a sensible diet. Start walking to the drug store to get a BP reading or just take your pulse randomly when you're sitting down reading or watching TV. Anything over ~140/90 is not great, 120/80 is normal but shoot for the 110/70's range. Resting heart rate should NOT be over 80. Shoot for 50's to Low 70's.

Amazing how we anticipate a "NUMBER" whether we weigh in once a week or once a day-it is amazing how that anticipation can either "make or break" us once we see the "number" I am now finding much more enjoyment and accomplishment by anticipating how things look or feel when I try on my clothes rather than getting consumed by a number. Don't get me wrong I have a goal weight which I will hit-that motivation keeps me pushing to accomplish more-but I refuse to let a number dictate the way I feel :)
I use food service scoops for fast and easy measuring of food. The scoops come in lots of sizes from teaspoons to cup size. I use the teaspoon and 1/2 cup the most. They also are great for baking cookies , cupcakes and pancakes.4
There are number on the end of the scoop to tell you how many servings per quart there are.
