I became a certified group fitness/aerobic instructor.
Benefits of aerobics are weight loss or management, helps tone, increases stamina, reduces fatigue, decreases stress, and burns lots of calories. Also, meet lots of fitness buddies. No special equipment is needed. Just music and water!
My gym has both costly registered fitness classes and free drop-in classes. I've found that the drop-in ones are actually MORE motivating! It's often the same core group of people at all the classes, from Aerobics to Zumba, and they'll hold you accountable if you're gone for more than a day or two!
There is a great site on the web called Meet Up. You can find a meet up for just about anything including fitness and healthy eating. These groups meet locally. It's a great site to meet folks who like to do similar activities as you. Hiking, biking, walking, vegetarian, clean eating or even a card game group. There are lots to choose from. Just go to meetup.com join and do a search for the activity that you like.
