Olive Oil For Leg Shaving

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

I have very dry skin especially so in the winter months. I read about using olive oil instead of chemical shave cream to shave your legs with. I tried it and I love it ! The blade glides well, and leaves a light touch of moisture on your legs when you are done, washes off when you jump into the shower !

Use the cheapest one you can find for shaving, use organic extra virgin for cooking though.

I've discovered using hair conditioner instead of shaving gel works great, also. DH had a conditioner he didn't like, so I took it and started using it when I shaved. Leaves legs silky and great moisturizer.

Olive oil is good for the skin as well and absorbs well too. Seems like a waste to completely rinse it off.

Wow, had no idea olive oil could be used to shave legs. I'm allergic to regular shaving cream and have been using hair conditior but that gets expensive after awhile. I'll try it sounds interesting!

    Seems slippery?

This is interesting---what about baby oil (mineral oil)? does that do the same thing?

I knew olive oil was good, but not for shaving my legs. Thanks for the info.
TWOTIMESS 2/17/2011 3:12:00 PM

I like to use up all my old hair conditioner for a shave. Oh, I see Babie Jane does the same, LOL!
