I keep my gym bag in my car and go to the gym close by my work. If I stopped at home I wouldn't leave again to go work out!
The great thing is that by going to the gym nearby the office, I spend the heaviest traffic time working out, and by the time I'm done, traffic is moving again. I time my food so that I eat a snack before I leave so I am not rushing home for dinner.

I pack my clothes for the gym every single day when I go to work. That way, even on days I don't want to go, I don't have an excuse. I pack my clothes the night before and put my gym bag by my purse by the door--I won't forget it. When I leave work I have no excuse not to go--I don't have to go home first--I have everything I need.
When I leave work I go straight to the gym, turn the car off, and go inside. I don't run errands, stop for food, go home to change, etc... they all lead to a break in my concentration! I just go straight to the gym - that's all it takes to get me motivated!9
