Alcan has this new (?) aluminum foil that is built with a slippery side called "Slide". Best thing EVER! Sweet potato fries don't stick to it, no oil or spray needed, and clean-up is instant! And aluminum foil can be recycled. I'm going to start using it for everything I generally cook on or over a cookie sheet.
Those wonderful perforated anodized metal pans or bowls that allow you to grill veggies outdoors can be used in your oven. I set my top shelf slightly below middle of oven, put a cookie sheet covered with foil on the bottom shelf. Using zucchini, onions, green peppers, etc. I used a some salt and pepper and olive oil. Broiled for about 10-15 mint. Wonderful!
I cut my price for almonds in half! I'm no chef, nor do I have all day to cook. This was simple enough to do to make the savings worth it. Plus, if you can buy in bulk you won't have to do it as often.
Line a cookie sheet with foil, toss the raw nuts in vegetable oil, spread them in a single layer and cook for 8-10 mins at 350 degrees. The trick is to remove them from the hot cookie sheet after they're done so they won't burn. I just picked up the corners of the foil and placed it on the counter.
