  • I do this too for most meals. I also dish out the food from the pots rather than place on the table. This way everyone has their plate ready when we sit down and the kids help to place them on the table. They do have the opportunity to comment on portion size, etc while it is dished, but usually I know how they want things (cheese vs no cheese, etc.) Saves on dishes and calories, and "Out of site--out of mind") We do "family style" -dishes on the table, for special meals only. - by NUVISION
