Pizza,donuts, candy, chips,soda and alcholol, fries, white bread, full fat ice cream an fried fish and hot dogs are nutrient deficient foods! A food craving is your body’s cry for nutrients. Your brain monitors your blood sugar. Excessive hunger, food cravings,sugar cravings, are caused primarily by a deficiency or an imbalance in some essential nutrient that your body is missing.

When you find yourself craving that one thing and you can't find a substitution that fills it.... indulge! I'm not saying do it every day but every once in a while if you can make it fit in your calories then do it. Better a small controlled amount now then risking a binge later
If your craving something regularly try to find out what's in it that you are actually craving Maybe your body is telling you something
Just read in Yoga Journal where the author mentioned she got back on track by hearing a teacher talk about how to "place the body" in a certain posture vs. "your body"...she thought about this when dealing with food cravings and emotional eating. Does "the body" need the extra serving, or do "I need" it? If it's "I" then consider taking another look what's behind the craving and deal with the underlying issue first...if it's "the body" truly then nourish it and move on...this really helped me !
