As you grocery shop for the next month, slowly add healthy snacks to your shopping list, and don't buy the unhealthy binge foods you used to eat. It's easier to adapt to a gradual change, and you'll end up with a fridge/pantry full of yummy snacks that won't get you into too much trouble!
I love to snack, and have a hard time with binges. Now, when I want to binge my choices are fruits, veggies, raw almonds, air popped popcorn, etc. I can only eat so many strawberries..they satisfy my sweet craving, don't leave me feeling guilty. I'm down 25 pounds since Jan '10.
I find, the more veggies/fruit I squeeze into my day (as part of my meals, and as yummy snacks with hummus ...), the easier the weight comes off. Mostly because they fill me up for VERY few calories, and then I am not as hungry by the time the next "mealtime" rolls around.
