Stevia is a good sugar substitute, as is xylitol. Both are natural sweeteners. I can't say for sure about stevia, but you can use xylitol just like you would sugar.

I can vouch for that! I did 2 weeks of no sugar and lost so much weight I almost did not recognize myself. lol

Last week I weighted myself and then visited the toilet. I weighted again and found a 1.1 pound loss.....hmmmm
Because I want instant weight loss, I weigh in first with all my clothes and coat on. Then I put down my purse. HA! 5 pound weight loss. Then off goes my coat. There goes some more!! Finally, there go the shoes (and if I'm wearing heavier clothing they go to). I get my instant gratification and feel good with my little psych out.
I am one of those people who needs something more concrete than a number on a scale to get excited about. So I remind myself that every 8 pounds I lose is equal to a gallon of milk. Now, knowing how bulky and heavy a gallon of milk is, makes an 8 pound loss feel much more substantial and more emotionally satisfying that just a small movement on a scale. Small losses are significant, when you think about them in concrete terms.
