When you hit a plateau it can be very frustrating but this tip should kick start your body back on the weightloss journey. By alternating a low calorie day (ie 1200 cals) and a high calorie day (1500 cals) (for myself) you jump start your body into action again. This action tricks your body back into thinking it can burn the calories instead of hang on to them and keeps your body from thinking it is in starvation mode.

Lately I have been alternating my calorie intake a bit. During the week I stay between my 1200-1550, but on the weekends, I allow myself between 1800-1900 calories, which is the appropriate maintenance calories for my goal weight. Makes me feel I can have a little extra, but still stay on track.
I am kind of on a "rotation" program - meaning I alternate lower carb/calorie days with mid and higher so that my metabolism doesn't stall out. I am taking the same approach to exercise - 1 1/2 min at a slower pace, 1 1/2 min. at an aerobic pace, alternated back and forth. It keeps me motivated.
