Alternating Calories

When you hit a plateau it can be very frustrating but this tip should kick start your body back on the weightloss journey. By alternating a low calorie day (ie 1200 cals) and a high calorie day (1500 cals) (for myself) you jump start your body into action again. This action tricks your body back into thinking it can burn the calories instead of hang on to them and keeps your body from thinking it is in starvation mode.

    Yes. I have discovered this. I have a problem that I stop losing weight after a couple of weeks dieting. Now I know to relax and eat more then cut back again and a kg can just disappear! emoticon

    This sounds like interval training for your body, where it's proven that alternating high intensity with low intensity workouts is more effective for calorie burning. And we've all seen how well the first week weight loss is compared to later weeks, so maybe there is something to this and our bodies get "used to" a steady state. I'm going to try it - thanks.

    I did this by accident (had a horrible plateau, and then had a day of eating in a more, uh, enthusiastic way than usual), and it worked! I would never have known!!

    This is so true! and you can also do this same thing all the time not just when trying to lose those extra pounds and it will keep your body guessing all the time.
