I've struggled with weight all of my adult life. I'm also a bit of a penny pincher, so in the past when I would lose some weight, I'd hang on to my clothes "just in case".
Almost 2 years ago, I started this journey for the last time. I've had some ups and downs, but I get rid of any clothes the minute they feel 2 big or I don't like the way they look. I know this has made all the difference since this is the first time in my life I've sustained any kind of weight loss & it's been over a year.

I totally agree! I did the same thing. Even had people tell me not to get rid of the too big clothes. That's what gave me the idea. I usually get my clothes at the thrift store since I continue to lose and don't want to spend on clothes I know I won't have too long. When I get down to my goal weight then I will buy new. Ya I'm cheap

Yes, I agree. If I have the bigger clothes I find I will just start wearing them and get too comfortable in them. If I get rid of them and the ones I am wearing start getting tight and uncomfortable I am more likely to get back on track.

I did this very thing last week. I went through all my jeans and only kept ones that fit me now + i pair of jeans at the very largest size I ever needed. I think it will be cool to have the very largest pair at some future date when I reach my goal just for comparison sake. The other jeans I trotted off to Goodwill. Next sorting project...the blouses, shirts,t-shirts.

OK you've convinced me. Purple Heart is coming to my house on Wed --- I'm gonna put out all my "back up" clothes!

Bye-bye, Fat Clothes!
As you lose weight, get rid of the "fat clothes," the clothes that have become too big on you, and never turn back.
MORE INFORMATION:
Make a pact with yourself never to buy bigger clothes again. Unless you simply want to keep one item for nice "proof" photos of your former self. This is a huge motivating factor for me to keep my weight where it is, and not allow myself to backtrack. It's my "no-turning-back" policy
I get rid of my old clothes AS SOON as they are too big. If the remainder of my clothes begin feeling too tight, I know it's time to buckle down and lose a pound or two - or else I won't have any clothes to wear! This forces me to maintain my weight or keep losing.
