Great words of advice. I am the world's worst about being so down on myself. I can encourage others but I find it very difficult to take those same encouraging words and turn them inwards.

There are MANY challenges in life, they will either make you bitter or better, I chose BETTER!!!

This is probably THE biggest thing that has kept me consistent in the last few months. I used to get down on myself about every little mistake (even something as simple as doing a workout different from the one I had planned) and I would get stuck in self loathing for weeks which turned into months. Now when I make a mistake, I just let it go and stay on course. This attitude has helped me lose 15 pounds this year!

Another good thing to do is break it up when you're watching TV. I've noticed that every commercial break during my favorite show (Ghost Hunters) is about three minutes long. During those three minutes, try doing something simple, like sit ups, crunches, the plank, etc. It's a good way to work in small bursts of exercise when you're not motivated to go to the gym or strap on your running shoes!

To love yourself and to be able to forgive yourself as you'd forgive others is a must, not only in losing weight but in all aspects of your life. Be as kind to yourself as you are to others.

A new and refreshing comment I haven't seen in words before. I will try to remember that one among others, it is short and to the point.

This is so very true. We mess up on everything in life but when it comes to our weight, it's like LAW! Thanks for the likable statement!

This was one of the hardest lessons for me, but the most powerful one that has kept me maintaining for the past 3 years!

and I'm finding it easier to accept that I will have some bad days (for me when I'm overtired and stressed I tend not to exercise and eat for energy), but I can put them behind me more easily and get right back on track. I used to be an "all or nothing" sort of person; now I'm learning to forgive myself and accept the fact that I may not be perfect every day, but I'm a heck of a lot better than I used to be!
