TV is on and I'm sitting on here comfortably. I know I have move and shake my body more. I just get up and just start moving around otherwise I'll never notice the difference. Don't think about it, stop being lazy, JUST MOVE!!!!
I take a walk, lift weights, do sit ups, squats, jump or run in place...sometimes I just vacuum the whole house

Whenever I plan an evening of being a couch potato I make myself get up at every commercial break and do a chore. Most chores just take the 2 - 3 minute break. It gets me off the couch every little bit AND I get my chores done without feeling like a slave to housework.
For the length of at least 1 sitcom a day, instead of sitting on the couch I walk or jog in place in front of the TV. It may not burn a ton of calories, but it is definitely better than being a couch potato!
I recently started to run (Couch Potato to 5k, whoohoo!) and I found that splurging on some high quality running gear really helped. It made me feel like a pro and put me in the mood give my best. Maybe it's lame, but yes, looking like a Nike ad did the trick for me!
