Honey contains sugar, but unlike refined sugar, honey contains vitamins & minerals too. Normally, to digest sugar, the vitamins & minerals stored in body are utilized, rendering the body devoid of these nutrients. These nutrients are essential to dissolve fats & cholesterol. So when you eat too much sugar you tend to increase weight not just because of the calories but due to lack of vitamins & minerals. On the contrary, honey being a good source of nutrients helps you in reducing weight.
Honey & warm water: drink 1 tbsp honey with 1 cup of warm water.
Honey & lemon juice: Many drink this formula 1st thing in the morning (honey, warm water & lemon juice).
Honey & Cinnamon: Take 1 tbsp of cinnamon powder, 1 tbsp of honey & 1 cup of warm water. Mix & drink on an empty stomach.
Everybody's bodies are different...some like it hot...some like it cold. It's no different with the water we drink. If you're struggling to drink your water quotient for the day maybe it's because of the temperature! I love hot foods and hot drinks...the thought of drinking cold water freaks me out...so I drink hot water (with a wedge of lemon, if possible) or room temperature water when I'm not near a kettle! It goes down so much easier than cold water!!
Ginger and cinnamon help with weight loss because they allow your metabolism to increase. Only one problem, though: you can't have them if you're taking medication, because they allow the faster absorption of medicine (booo!). So ask your doctor before you take it, ok? :)
Take a table spoon of ginger, a table spoon of cinnamon, mix with water in a small sized pot. Wait until it boils for a minute or so, then add to your cup. Taste packs quite a punch, and you should feel warm/ hot feeling in your throat-- that's the ginger cinnamon taste. Trust me, it's normal! :)
