Setting A Long Term Fitness Goal Helps With Daily Motivation

Last year I decided that in 2011 I wanted to do a triathlon. I've never done anything like that but have a friend that has. I'm not getting any younger so I set that as my long term fitness goal. Making this decision has really helped keep me moving and training as I am working towards a goal.

    another good thing that works is short term events that one wants to look super for . I am getting married and best of all I have three grandchildren I want to live to see grow up.

    I agree. Back in 2007 I signed up for the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk which consists of walking 60 miles in 3 days. I trained for 9 months and was very motivated by this long term goal. emoticon

    I did the same last Summer. I signed up for 13.1 Miles (Canada Army Run Sept 2010). Last time I ran a half marathon was in 2004. It really help me during those days that I did not feel like it. I had a big picture in mind... I was running with a purpose: doing better than I did 6 years ago! Good Luck on your upcoming TRI emoticon
