Poor sleep and a lack of sleep really affects all aspects of my life. When I get enough sleep, then I get more done, I'm more active, I eat better, I make better decisions, I cook better meals, I enjoy my life more. If I'm tired, then it's all quite the opposite! 320267
I find it really important to have a good bedtime routine. I wind down for at least an hour, before sleep. My pillow may be my most important ally in a good sleep. I also track my hours of sleep on SP "Other Goals", to remind myself daily, of the importance of adequate sleep.
I have suffered with insomnia my whole life; whether it's not being able to fall asleep or falling asleep but waking up every hour or two! I tried everything! Although I refuse to take any prescription meds for it because I don't want to become dependent on anything.
Recently, a friend of mine recommended yoga before I go to sleep. I was skeptical at first but after I did it the first time, I crashed out all night (didn't wake up once!). I was amazed at how well it works!
