Sneak It In - But Don'T Let Your Body Know!

The first time I lost a significant amount of weight...I would "sneak" in exercise here and there. Taking the stairs, parking in the farthest spot from the mall/groccery store, or purposely making two trips up and down the stairs when I probably could have done it all at once. Sounds a little silly..but it adds up! On top of regular exercise and eating right, I believe this really helped me reach my goal!

  • It is good, Ive just started to do that myself, and when I clean I make larger movements and I tend to dance a little when hanging laundry, lol. I also read somewhere giving the suggestion to do a squat as you brush your teeth and try to hold the position for the full 2 minutes (or however long you brush your teeth for). Phew.. talk about workout! - by TROPICALDRINK

This is a good technique. I sometimes irritate my friends and family, by parking as far away as I can from the entrance to a store. I tell them, "Every little bit helps." They really can't argue with that. emoticon - by DYCARPENTER1

  • I move as much as I can. I will volunteer to go up or down the stairs to get things for my husband or mom, they don't want to, so I get the benefit. Sometimes my husband tells me that I can get it for him and look you can get more steps. Right? emoticon - by WATCHINW8

  • I always park the furtherest away in the parking lot at work. It not only helps me with getting in my exercise, but it also keeps me from getting my vehicle damaged. and I'm constantly walking back and forth in my job as a cashier. Have to stand a lot, so the walking helps keep my feet from hurting quite so bad. - by DOTTYDO
  • I do it all the time. Just to get just a little more in. I don't feel like it but I do. My legs just don't wanna move but I make them. - by DELLMEL

  • Park a little farther away, sneak in some extra steps instead of being so well organized and on energy conservation, do a few extra squats when getting something out of a cupboard or picking up somethings, take the skimpier portion and give the other to someone else, it's fun! Be creative. - by J2740LOU
