No Regular Cola Or Soda!!!

Sounds easy, but it worked for me. Before I joined SP, I substituted diet cola for my 3-4 regular colas per day and lost 10 pounds after 3 months without changing anything else in my routine. Not only did I begin NOT to crave regular cola anymore, my sweet tooth diminished TREMENDOUSLY. I used to LOVE colas (and had a sweet tooth), so this was a baby step to eliminate regular colas entirely from my diet, and limit diet soda to less than one a day. Now it's mainly unsweet hottea for me!

    This is a first good step. I drank a lot of pop when I was in school, then just cut them out completely when I starting getting serious about losing weight around age 14. I did drink a lot of canned iced tea after that due to the convenience factor, but have all but eliminated those now too. Bottles of water are definitely the way to go, and you can use things like Crystal Light for a flavour boost to change things up.

    Speaking as one who had horrible neurological effects due to the build up of aspartame from 13 years of drinking it, the chemicals in diet soda are worse than the real thing. Go for sparkling water instead, or limit yourself to a very occasional soda (made with real sugar, not corn syrup).

    I did the very same ...went from 14 cokes per day to switching to Diet Rootbeer to now nothing ...if I do have one its less then one a day ...just to change up taste some. I drink the Almond milk and water ...I found I wasnt losing weight even on the diet drinks so I gave them up all together too.

    I agree.. I drink way too much pop. I need to cut back on the mountain dew and substitute it. that would help a lot with my wieght loss probably

    I agree. And I've read that even drinking diet soda's can impeded weight loss so I only drink water, certain herbal teas, skim milk, carrot juice or small portions of other natural veggie or fruit juices. With so much good stuff to choose from that benefits our bodies and takes us toward our goals, why drink the man made chemical junk?! Nice post.

    Always been told that the sweetners in these drinks are more harmful...rather to have the regular drink but less. Better none at all

    emoticon I did the same thing. Although I quit drinking diet all after I was told as you get older your body can't get rid of the sugar substitutes like it use to. These substitutes can poison your body. Don't know if it is fact...just what I had been told. Not taking chances. emoticon on taking control of your sweet tooth and not letting it control you.
