To help me stay regular, I put flax seed in mostly everything I cook, from eggs to meatloaf.

Flaxseed provides a tremendous amount of fiber and it is good for my family as well. They never know that it is in their food.

I put flaxseed in my oatmeal. I can't even really tell the difference.
And, no, it's different from the oil. You're not supposed to heat flaxseed oil, that can cause it to taste bad (and BE bad for you). Also, you have to make sure to use GROUND flaxseed, because your body can't properly digest the whole stuff.

Do they taste anything like the horrible flaxseed oil?

I use flaxseed in all my hot cereals and my yogurt.
Thanks for sharing your ideas on more uses of flaxseed.
