I control what I eat by filling my plate 3/4 full with veggies/fruits and everything else has to fit into the last 1/4 space. (I'm not talking about heaping portions here) I've found that this is especially helpful when I'm eating out. I use this method for portion control.
This is assuming that the fruits and veggies aren't in any sauces or swimming in butter or syrup.
It is so much easier to portion out home cooked meals with a scale. Measure the stew, the cake, the bread or whatever you have made and then divide it by number of servings. You can weigh each serving before you eat and know exactly how many calories you are consuming.
Of course this assumes that you are calcualting the total calories count of a recipe.
I've been drinking Diet Coke for a long time now and everytime I try to quit (which I'd love to do) I get severe migranes. Thinking it was the lack of caffiene I tried to substitute with coffee, tea, etc. but nothing seemed to ease the headache except Diet Coke. Anyone else with this problem?
I'm assuming it's what they put in it to substitute the sugar.
