I recently bought a measuring glass from Bed, Bath and Beyond to help me keep track of exactly how many calories were in my juice, smoothie or other drinks with calories. Now when I drink 8 oz of milk I know it is 8 oz and not 9.

I try to quench my thirst only with water. You know how they say "Don't drink your calories"? Well I do enjoy some juice or wine on occasion. But I find that, when I'm thirsty, I don't even pause to enjoy these drink calories! So I always have a glass of water FIRST before I indulge in juice/wine
I do my best not to drink my calories. It is amazing how many calories are in juice, pop, beer, ect. AND you ingest those calories much faster! For me, I'd rather chew my calories. This alone has helped me quite a bit!
My secret to success is drinking water! I drink a glass before my coffee, between meals, with meals, and before bed to make sure I get my water in. It helps me stay in check because I'm not drinking my calories :)
