I recently bought a measuring glass from Bed, Bath and Beyond to help me keep track of exactly how many calories were in my juice, smoothie or other drinks with calories. Now when I drink 8 oz of milk I know it is 8 oz and not 9.

I try to quench my thirst only with water. You know how they say "Don't drink your calories"? Well I do enjoy some juice or wine on occasion. But I find that, when I'm thirsty, I don't even pause to enjoy these drink calories! So I always have a glass of water FIRST before I indulge in juice/wine
My secret to success is drinking water! I drink a glass before my coffee, between meals, with meals, and before bed to make sure I get my water in. It helps me stay in check because I'm not drinking my calories :)
Even when it comes to fruits, I do my best to remember to chew the real fruit (like an orange), instead of drinking it (juice only). I find the fullness I feel lasts longer. When I find that I 'drink' my calories with beverages other than water/low cal drinks, it really adds up fast on my nutrition tracker!
