Firstly do this for yourself & your health and ONLY yourself not just because other people are being hurtful, snide, mean and want you to lose the weight so you look aesthetically more pleasing to them. In short scr*w them. It won't stick if you do it simply for vanity's sake and don't truly want it for the right reasons! Plus your will power is certain to fail at the first hurdle!
Also don't go it yourself, try not to tell people -even family you're trying to lose weight. Always go the distance with a Nutritionist monitoring you & supporting you. Always do healthy eating & NOT fad diets, I've never done fad diets, and killed the few bad eating habits I had by eating healthy.

Because I have always eaten too fast and too much, in order to slow down I keep a kitchen timer on the table and set it to 20 minutes when I begin my meal. That way I am more aware of what I am eating and am able to put the fork down between bites.
