Two weeks ago I began saving all the visible fat I cut from the meat I was about to cook. Throughout the two weeks I would give some to my dog, but today I weighed it. It was 1.5 pounds of fat! That's over 5000 calories that I kept from my body. Even if I strained, patted, and did all the other fat reducing tips, if I had cooked the meat with that fat on it, some of it would have found a way into my body.
It takes a little extra prep time, but in the two weeks I've lost five pounds. I think I'm worth the extra time.
