I had a soyfruit shake veggie burger whole grain bun TADA!!!fool yourself instead of a fattening burger and shake. I figured this out as Friday used to be my fav night to hit a fast food restaurant as a get started to the weekend. Now I plan ahead with healthy fast food alternatives like AMYS burritos YUM.

Don't just estimate your food portions. Use measuring cups and spoons, or even better, buy a digital scale. It is so surprising to find that what you thought was a 'serving' of cereal is really two or three! Same with any calorie dense food - you will be amazed at how you have been fooling yourself!
Once I have measured my meal, (and my family is used to me doing it now!) I try to eat slowly and mindfully. I don't ever tell myself I can't have more. I just measure the second serving as well. That way I get an honest picture of how much I am eating. PS- I don't measure at the restaurant! 4
