I find that when I concentrate on whole foods (ie: lean meats, fresh/frozen veggies and fruits, low-fat dairy, and healthy fats, like nuts), I feel better about myself, I feel clean and clear minded, and I don't overeat. It leaves me feeling satisfied.

You can get raw oats from Whole Foods in Bulk foods. They're inexpensive. Cook up 1 cup in 4 cups water the night before--until boiling. Then the next morning, take a cup of this mixture and heat it through til boiling again, mixed with raisins, or other dried fruit, if you like! umm. Yummy!20
Keep Fast Food at Home Instead of Hitting the Drive-Through
What do you do when your child has try-outs or you need something to eat on your way from a dr.'s appointment to work? Well, I used to just "drive through." But the past few weeks, I've been keeping some really good smoked turkey in the fridge. So when we're on our way somewhere after school, we get out the smoked turkey, wheat bread, flour tortillas, etc.--and it's just as fast as driving through, probably faster, and healthier for sure. My 10-year-old daughter loves it!

I used to use a lot of diet foods, food that are a low sugar- low calorie counter part to their full caloried cousins, such as Slim Fast Desserts or diet soda with Splenda. These foods while satisfying a craving made me feel low energy.
Now I drink iced teas and enjoy whole foods which are much more satisfying and lack chemical additives.
