I found it unsatisfying to eat just one serving of breakfast cereal. Some servings are only a half cup or less. So, I started combining my cereal with one half cup of puffed wheat. It makes a nice sized bowl of cereal and I feel much more happy.

I've been trying to avoid the sugary-sweet cereals that I used to get and instead have been buying cheerios, rice krispies, corn flakes, etc. While they're favorites of mine, they can taste bland after repeated breakfasts. I spice it up with a sprinkle of cinnamon (and maybe splenda). It's an instant boost for my taste buds, so I don't miss those other breakfast cereals.
If you are a fan of breakfast cereals, try replacing a sugary cereal with one high in fiber. I find that when I eat Mini Wheats for breakfast, it actually keeps me full and prevents me from snacking before lunch time. Add some sweetness by choosing frosted flavors, or adding fruit.
