Automatic Debit To Ing

This Sparked Me!

I have an automatic debit from my checking to ING Direct (savings). So many times I tell myself I'll put money away if I have it left at the end of the month and then I don't end up doing it. By making it an automatic debit, I know it will get done. Also, by using ING Direct (great rates by the way), I cannot easily transfer it back into my account to use (takes 1-2 business days).

I'm glad I inspired you! To tell you more...they are an on line bank. They offer higher rates than most banks because they are completely on line. They are insured like other banks so you don't have to worry about that. You set up your account with them by connecting it to another account you have (like Bank of America) and then you can transfer money back and forth...either one-time transfers or automatically at a certain day each month. The transfer from ING back to your bank takes like 1-2 business days so you can't do any impulse buying (which I like). They also have good rates on CDs and now they even have a checking I believe. Check them out at www.ingdirect.com

I do the same thing. Another great thing is ING makes it really easy to set up different accounts for different things you are saving for. So, you can have a general savings, vacation account, or whatever and it is all accessible by the same webpage. Then, I set up my main transaction from my checking account and then divide it among the other accounts once it clears. You can divide it up among the other accounts instantly.

tell us more, I have heard several people talk about ING. Can you share more of your
experience?

I love ING too. I have smaller amounts of money transferred automatically every week so its almost easier for me to forget it was in my regular bank account in the first place.
