I have ADHD and going to the gym bores me to tears... but not since I started bringing things to do on the recumbent bike! It's easy to pedal while reading or playing a hand-held game, and I barely notice the time passing.

    It is true that reading or playing a game can make boring low-intensity exercise go by.

Your best bet is to increase the intensity. An intense 20 minute cardio workout can be better for you than an easy hour one. Any time I'm working light enough to read or play a game I'm not working out very intensely.

I only find this useful for long steady workouts.
