I think the quote "You are who you think you are. You become who you think you will become", has a lot of truth in it. Maybe, our thoughts do create our situations and we can begin to alter our lives with just our thoughts.... Something to think about.
Many times my wife and I I catch ourselves just munching on something without thinking about it. You're not a horrible person for having a treat, or something that is "off plan", but make it a conscious decision and understand the consequences!
I recently stopped using any credit card. I started taking only enough cash to buy what I am going out for and if I see something I think is a buy, I use that money only, and forgo something else on my list. I have found that I don't spend as much or have "buer's regret" nearly as much.
I also save something out of each trip to go in a tip jar. I am paying for a min vacation in a couple weeks with my change from shopping
