I joined SparkPeople in 09, but found it a bit much to write all the food information down to enter into the nutrition tracker - so I quickly stopped using it.
This time, I added the SparkPeople app to my iPhone and I can track my foods/drinks, exercise, water and other goals no matter where I am! No writting them down, no forgetting- it's very simple! And...I am losing weight MUCH more consistently!!
I added the app on my iPhone- so any "i" products can be used, I am not positive if other cell companies/phone models have the option, but it's worth looking in to!

I took the Spark advice and drew a poster of different reasons why I want to get fit. There's a stick figure me hiking up a mountain, watering flowers, standing next to a rack of pretty clothes, etc. I see it every day and remember why I am doing this and how I felt when I drew the pictures. It also occasionally sparks my Hubby to compliment some effort I make.
For a long time I thought I couldn't lose weight. In addition to my "genetic" make-up & the fact I was taking steroids every day (Insulin is considered a steroid. I take 4 shots/day for Tight Control), meant that losing weight couldn't be done. My Endo had told me most diabetics were not successful @ losing weight, they didn't have t . I found Spark, computed the cals I needed to lose @ the rate of 1 1/2# a week & started drinking more H2O. In the first month, I gained 4#. I took the Spark info
& went to the Nutritionist/Diabetic Specialist @ my docs. Her computations produced almost the exact recommendations I received on Spark, so back to my doc. He looked everything over & told me to cut 300 cal/day and walk. My neew goal @ 1# per month, I've lost 11# in 10 months. From 205 to 194.
Being recently retired, I have come to the conclusion that one of the best retirement gifts you can give yourself is the gift of your own good health. Take care of yourself before you retire so you can enjoy many years of healthy retirement.
Take your spark efforts seriously now and spend less money on taking care of chronic disease later! :)
