Being selfish is NOT selfish. I have come to realize that I am WORTH taking care of. If taking care of myself is wrong - then as they say - I DON'T want to be right.

Every step forward IS a step. Eventually they all add up to changes. MY CHOICE.

  • I agree that the word selfish often has a negative connotation. Sometimes we have to put ourselves first or there won't be anything left for us to give anyone else. A SP Leaders had a great analogy and I remember it always: When you are on a plane and the oxygen masks come down in an emergency you have to put the mask on yourself first and only then can you help others, such as, your children etc. This has been such a reminder for me to put myself first and that I AM worth it! emoticon - by NOTGIVINGUP49
  • I think we need to rethink the word selfish - it has such negative connotations. Sometimes doing for self is a very healthy thing to do! Keep being a little selfish. In the end it will be good for you and everyone you know! emoticon - by GARDENGIRL54
  • Exactly! I have a new baby and I really have to make time to workout. That's where my husband comes in! And I have told him that I'm sorry if my working out seems selfish, but I want to live a long healthy life for my children. Luckily, he's a wonderful man and always makes sure I get my hour for exercise!

Keep up the great work!!! emoticon - by NYS_EMT
