I know insomnia can get the better of us, but get in the bed and go to sleep! Kick your computer and TV out of the bedroom if need be. The later you stay up in that over night cram session, catching up on youtube videos, just lounging around, or watching infomercials--the more likely you are to eat for the sake of eating. It might help to throw in a brief, but vigorous workout, before or after dinner to burn some energy and help you fall asleep faster.

I can't seem to get myself motivated enough to do serious exercise as soon as I wake up in the a.m., but I've discovered that I can do my 10 Minute Trainer yoga dvd in my pj's! I put the dvd in before I go to sleep at night so all I have to do is jump up and get to it! It's only 10 minutes but it gives me SO much energy AND influences my eating habits all day.
Before I go to sleep each night, I put a full glass of water next to my bed. I always wake up really thirsty, so its right there for me to drink - and the glass I use holds 2 full cups, so that is 25% of my daily water goal down in the first 3 minutes that I'm awake!!
