Eating every meal while sitting down at the table, with all other entertainment turned off (no tv or game etc) can actually turn into nice family time or friends time.
Also, because it forces you to pay attention to what you're eating, it may result in reducing the quantity and also time spent eating - if you are eating by yourself then you may find it boring and want to go back to your other activities for the day.
