Before I head to the check out, I've learned to ask myself re: everything I'm planning to purchase: "Do I really need this?" If not, put it back! "Do I really need this TODAY?" If I don't need it until next week, don't spend the money until I have to. Asking these questions helps me be more mindful about spending.
It's been a gradual process to train myself to live within my means. This is one of the ways I've managed to do it.

Using my Sparkpoints page to collect points is very helpful. When it comes to answering the trivia questions, it can get discouraging to get so many wrong because some questions I feel are trick questions. If you come across a question you don't want to answer just refresh your page and you'll get a new question.100
These three questions help keep me focused and on track
When facing a problem ask yourself these three questions: 1.) Is it fixable or replaceable? 2.) Will it matter in 5 years? and 3.) Is it within my power to do something about it? I hate wasting energy on things that won't matter. This helps me to avoid pouting and get on with my day.
