Chewing gum during a hard cardio session helps me stay focused! Give it a try, if you don't already. Also, keeps your jaw/neck muscles engaged throughout exercising! Not too shabby!

    As long as the gum is sugarless. :-) I use sugarless gum when I feel drowsy while I'm driving. It helps me stay focused behind the wheel.

    What a great idea. I also like the comment about chewing while driving to stay alert. Until now, when I drive 50 miles home very late at night I've been munching low fat crackers or other snack and drinking water to keep me awake. I will definitely try the gum idea.

    I am not sure if i would do this when I am working out but I certainly like to have a piece of gum when I go for a walk.

    I chew gum 16/7. Helps keep my appetite at bay as well as working out my chin and keeps my mouth moist during my workouts.

    I do this too. It also helps keep my mouth or throat from getting dry until my next sip of water. I do a lot of deep breathing when I exercise.

    I really like the idea, but I'd be concerned that I wouldn't breath properly. Do you ever have that problem?
