Well I think that I truly must live by this 80/20 rule seems to be working!! Honestly there is no way I could EVER give up on all the things I love in life...so sticking to ensuring I have one snack per day keeps a good balance of eating 80% clean and %20 junk! Like I say not that I NEED to have a cookie but my lord I love my chocolate chip cookies and if I get my butt on the treadmill and work it I deserve a cookie!!

I have been keeping fit primarily with weights for 27 yrs now, and have provided personal training to many people over the past 20 yrs. I can tell you with confidence that in my experience, counting water and calories works!
I've found that most women burn approx. 100 calories per hour. Most of us are awake 15 hrs per day. If we drink 8 eight ounce glasses of water per day and take in approx 1300 calories per day, this gives us a caloric deficit of approx 200 calories per day BEFORE exercise. Can't help but lose!
I have the hardest time with portion control. Lean Cuisine meals to the rescue! If I'm still hungry I have hard boiled eggs, veggies or fruits as a snack! Result: Less daily calories, eating more often plus learning true portion size, and no more guesswork for dinner at the end of a long day!
$2-$3 per meal, 220-320 calories each. Snacks: veggies, hard boiled eggs, fruits, protein shake
I was getting frustrated when something in my daily routine would get me off track from getting in all the steps I wanted for that day. I found that if I leave home earlier in the morning, take the long way around my block and walk past my bus stop I gain an extra 500 or so steps. If I make my connection to my next bus, I get off 1 stop sooner than my usual bus stop. Coming home at night I do the same thing in reverse.
My goal is to walk 12K steps per day instead of 10K!
