When I really am craving a savory snack and I'm considering going for chips and dip or crackers and cheese, I eat a whole half-sour pickle. Crunchy, salty, and satisfying for only a few calories. Be careful, because they're high in sodium, but they really hit the spot for occasional munchies and keep me away from salty snacks that are high in calories.

I'm most hungry with that "gotta eat" feeling just before supper. I've found that having one large dill pickle spear helps a lot. It has no calories. It is crunchy, which is satisfying. It's big enough to take a long time to eat. Pickles are very high in sodium so that needs to be taken into consideration, but personally, I'll take the salt over too many calories.
Eating pickles instead of chips with your sandwhich can majorly cut back in calories.
I often love to eat a tuna sandwich and I used to eat chips along with it, but now, to cut back in calories- I eat baby pickles instead. Its only 5 calories for 3 of them, and they are really satisfying. Cucumber slices are also a good substitute for chips. I love how crunchy cucumbers are.
