I say "thank you" countless times during the day. Even if someone is "just doing their job" I like to let them know I appreciate it. This is such a habit now that I don't even think about it. I look for something to appreciate and try to find the positive "spin".

I, too, have made it a habit to thank people and to acknowledge them.
There is another person that we have to remember.....ourselves. < br>It is essential to our own well being to also say 'thank you' to ourselves!

Thank you so much for posting this timely reminder. We all like to be appreciated. This is especially true in the arena of education where I'm carving out my third career. Everyone from the maintenance personnel who keep our schools tidy and clean to the cafeteria personnel who serve meals. Thank you!

Too often, all individuals hear are the complaints and negative feedback for things often out of their control. I think this is a wonderful practice, and it might help make someone's day better than you realize.
