Setting out to shed over 70 lbs. seems overwhelming, so I have broken down my goal into 4 (or more) parts. One for each season of a year. Right now I only have to concentrate on getting rid of 1/4. That is do-able! Then as the next season begins, so shall my 'new' goal of getting rid of another 1/4. After goal is met, I will work on maintenance one week at a time. Again, broken down, instead of "forever." If it takes longer than 4 seasons, I'll coninue more seasons until goal met.

Woke up today with a pounding headache, no energy, and wanting to eat comfort foods and crawl back under the warm covers. Even skipped my morning workout - a very rare event : ( But rather than let defeat take over, I went for a nice brisk walk at lunch time with a friend, and then I signed up for my first OFFICIAL 5K run a week from Saturday! I will feel better tomorrow!!!! I need to run!!!!185

It can be overwhelming if we focus too much on our ultimate goal weight, especially if we have a substantial amount of weight to lose. To prevent discouragement, break that big goal down into smaller, more manageable ones, and set up a reward for every goal reached. Nothing motivates like success!
