Pay Yourself Instead Of Buying Junk Food

This Sparked Me!

I don't regularly buy a lot of junk food, but I do have a weakness for sodas, candy bars, and chips. Every time I resist the urge to buy something like this, I take the money I would have spent (including sales tax) and put it into an account to buy something I really want (like new gym shoes or a cute blouse). The other day, I resisted the urge to order a pizza and now have $12 more in my account (and after about an hour, I found that I didn't really want the pizza anyway).

Without reading your post I have started doing this today. I have stopped diets before because I couldn't buy clothes. I used some of your thinking and thought that if I didn't spend it on drive thru junk, I could feel and look better.

That is awesome! I don't really ever had the urge to eat chips or candy bars, but I do have a weakness for ice cream and cookies. Thanks for the great idea!!
